Police have arrested a man they believe fired shotgun blasts into a car at a Placentia intersection, wounding three teen-agers.

Felipe Estrada, 20, was arrested at his Placentia home and booked on suspicion of attempted murder shortly after the shooting Wednesday night, Placentia Police Sgt. Russ Rice said Thursday.

Estrada, believed to have been a passenger in a compact pickup truck, allegedly fire two shotgun blasts into a white sedan at Tafolla Street and Orangethorpe Avenue.

Injured were Robert Alonzo, 17, of Placentia and two 17-year-old girls, whom police refused to name because of their ages. All were passengers in the car driven by another youth, who was uninjured. They were taken to Placentia-Linda Community Hospital for treatment of pellet wounds on their heads, necks and arms.

Rice said their car was stopped on Tafolla Street when the pickup truck pulled up in front and the shots were fired. The blasts blew out the windshield and rear window of the car.

The driver of the pickup truck was being sought.
