Carlsbad’s Miller Loses in 80s Final
Anaheim’s Ron Brandon, 85, outlasted 81-year-old Al Miller of Carlsbad, 6-7, 7-6, 6-1, in the finals of the men’s 80s division Thursday in the Masters Grand Prix Tennis Tournament at Rancho Bernardo Inn.
The match lasted more than three hours.
San Diego’s Stan Potts beat Victor Sanchez of Los Angeles, 7-6, 7-5, in the men’s 60s quarterfinals, and in a men’s 65s quarterfinal, Bob Seymour of Del Mar defeated Blair Hoke of Clairemont, 6-0, 7-6.
