Lennon Tribute Set: Plans were announced Monday for “Come Together,” a tribute to John Lennon and the 25th anniversary of the British Invasion, which will be in Milwaukee on March 12 and 13. While producer Jim Rissmiller said that details still have to be worked out, he said that the multimedia event “bridging the gap between the musical generations” would be broadcast on cable or pay-per-view television. Celebrities organizing the event include Rudolf Nureyev, who will lead a dance performance centered on Lennon’s music; Paula Abdul, Julian and Cynthia Lennon and Sid Bernstein. Rissmiller said the organizers would select a charity that focuses on environmental issues to which proceeds would be donated.
