La Verne : Student Named to Board
A La Verne resident who is a student at Mt. San Antonio College has been appointed to the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges.
Duane B. Thompson will serve as a student member on the 15-member board, which decides policy for the 107 community colleges in California.
Thompson, 21, is a La Verne resident who is the Mt. SAC Associated Student president this year. He was appointed to the board by Gov. George Deukmejian.
This marks the second time that a Mt. SAC student has served on the board. From 1983-84, Mt. SAC’s Laura Hill was a student representative.
