WESTMINSTER : 13-Year-Old Raped on Way From Store
A 13-year-old Westminster girl was dragged into roadside bushes and raped at knifepoint as she was walking home from a food market, police said Wednesday.
The girl was taken to Humana Hospital-Westminster after the 5:25 p.m. attack, and released.
She had been walking on Heil Avenue near Newland Street, said Lt. Andrew Hall. As she stood at the intersection, the attacker grabbed her and dragged her into some nearby foliage, he said.
The girl described the attacker as 16 or 17 years old with brown hair and brown eyes. He was about 6 feet tall and weighed about 165 pounds. He wore gray pants and a black jacket.
“We’ve got fairly sketchy information,” Hall said. “She was fairly scared.”
Police said that the attacker was on foot, and they suspect he might live in the area.
