The Athletics Congress will offer a monthly stipend ranging from $210 to $830 for U.S. track and field performers who qualify for a new Athlete Support Program.
College athletes, barred from accepting such payments by the NCAA, will not be eligible.
The largest stipends will go to those athletes who have won an individual medal by placing among the top three in an international World Cup event or are ranked among the top five in the world.
