The Oakland Athletics signed right-hander Scott Sanderson for one year at $750,000 and catcher Jamie Quirk for one year at $150,000. The team also announced that shortstop Walt Weiss had arthroscopic knee surgery last weekend but will be ready by the start of spring training.
