The Nevada boxing license of Olympic gold medalist Kennedy McKinney was suspended for six months because he tested positive for cocaine after his last fight.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission made the suspension retroactive to McKinney’s Oct. 31 split decision win over Jose Luis Martinez.
McKinney is currently in a 90-day drug rehabilitation program in Memphis. The commission, in imposing the suspension, also stipulated that McKinney be subject to random testing in Nevada for a year and that any future positive tests would result in revocation of his boxing license.
