Children as Passengers in Car-Pool Lanes

I have read with interest your Letters to the Editor, specifically the one regarding the woman who claims she is receiving “dirty looks” from other drivers when she uses the car pool lane as she had three small children in her car who could not be seen (Dec. 10). Also, you remember the woman who claimed she was a “car pool” because she was pregnant.

I think these complaints are ludicrous. I was of the understanding that the purpose of the car pool lanes was to try to get “adults” together to cut down on the traffic on our freeways.

Some sort of legislation should be passed stating that the car-pool lanes should be for transporting more than one “adult.” These women who use these lanes to transport their children are not taking another “driver” off our freeways.
