Newport Harbor Art Museum has received $7,000 from Mervyn’s Community Giving Program, to allow free family admission on the third Sunday of every month and to sponsor, on the third Sunday of every other month, “Fun Sunday,” an interpretive gallery program for families with children aged 5 to 11.

The catch is that the free admission to both programs will only be for those with coupons that can be picked up at Mervyn’s stores in Huntington Center, Huntington Beach, Irvine and Tustin, beginning Dec. 26. Mervyn’s also will be distributing coupons to schoolchildren who tour the museum with their classes. The Sunday program begins Jan. 21; the first “Fun Sunday”--to include a hands-on workshop and other activities--will be Feb. 18.
