Man Arrested After Saying Fall Killed Wife
A North Hollywood man was arrested on suspicion of murder after his wife died from injuries the man said she received “falling down the stairs, “ authorities said Sunday.
Police were called to an apartment in the 11000 block of Morrison Street shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday and found the woman unconscious on the living room floor, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Christopher Vasquez. The woman died two hours later at North Hollywood Medical Center, Vasquez said.
Police had not learned the couple’s identity, Vasquez said.
The man was arrested after detectives determined that the blunt-force injuries that killed the woman “were inconsistent with falling down stairs,” Vasquez said.
The man complained of chest pains and was taken to the jail ward of Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, Vasquez said.
