Share

In an apparent gang-related attack, a 16-year-old Huntington Beach girl was shot and wounded in the arm late Saturday night by a .22-caliber rifle fired from a black van, police said.

The girl, whom police would not identify, was fired on from the vehicle about 11:10 p.m. Saturday at Oak Street and Mandrell Drive. Just before the shooting, people in the van yelled gang slogans, police said Sunday.

Other shots were fired in the neighborhood around Oak and Mandrell, but no one was injured. The girl was treated at a local hospital and released. Police said no arrests have been made.
