Mattel to Acquire Corgi Toys: The Hawthorne company said it will acquire Corgi Toys Ltd., a British concern that produces miniature cars and models, for an undisclosed price. The announcement comes two weeks after Mattel, which will sell more than $1 billion worth of toys this year, reported strong revenue for the Christmas season with a continuation of 1989’s 25% sales growth. Corgi has annual revenue of about $20 million.
