Missing Retarded Man Found After 4 Days
To Pang Kwan, a 30-year-old, mentally retarded Alhambra man who had been missing for four days, was picked up by police last week after a woman reported seeing him in Hollywood.
Elizabeth Solis, an accounting clerk at Mercury General Corporation, told police she was driving to work when she noticed a dazed Kwan crossing the street. Minutes later, she heard a radio announcement seeking the public’s help in locating the man, who speaks only Chinese and has the reasoning capacity of an 8-year-old, police said. He was taken to Alhambra Community Hospital where he was treated for dehydration, exposure and hunger.
Authorities say they may never know where Kwan was for those four days.
