Orange County 1990 : RACIAL LINEUP CHANGES

Changes in Orange County’s racial composition between now and the middle of the 1990s will leave the county with a smaller percentage of whites and a larger share of Latinos. The county’s white population, now about three in four people, will drop to seven in 10 while Latinos will comprise more than one in five. Blacks are projected to remain at around the 1% level. This continues the general trend in racial composition that has obtained since the outset of the ‘80s. Whites then were 78%, Latinos 15% and blacks 1%.
