UCI Women Fall to Santa Clara

Julie Lienert scored 19 points, including four three-point shots, to lead Santa Clara to a 62-45 victory over UC Irvine Wednesday in a nonconference women’s basketball game in the Bren Center.

Freshman Yvonne Catala scored 26 points for the Anteaters (1-7). Catala, who made 13 of 18 field goals, also had nine rebounds.

Santa Clara (4-4) led, 35-25, at halftime.
