DONALD & ME: The award-winning documentary “Roger & Me,” coming to Orange County on Jan. 12, chronicles film maker Michael Moore’s persistent but unsuccessful efforts to interview General Motors Chairman Roger Smith. . . . In Orange County, the Irvine Co.’s powerful but publicity-shy chairman, Donald L. Bren (above), got about 15 requests for interviews last year, most of which were turned down. . . . When confronted by “creative people with their own agenda,” said Irvine Co. spokesman Larry Thomas, the question is: “Can you respond to them in such a way that you don’t end up with a movie made about it?”
