Undercover Officers Arrest 11 in Vice Sweep

Eleven men were arrested and charged with soliciting acts of prostitution during an undercover operation by two female Glendale police officers. The operation took place along the motel strip on East Colorado Street in southeast Glendale near the Eagle Rock border.

The eleven were arrested within a period of three hours, said Sgt. Dean Durand, a spokesman for Glendale police. They were cited for the misdemeanor violation and released, Durand said.

The Glendale Police Department has periodically conducted these suppression operations for several years, he said. “Street prostitution has never been a significant problem in Glendale, but the heavy concentration of economy motels in this area has attracted this type of activity in the past,” Durand said.
