Son Finds Father Shot to Death in Apartment
A Tarzana teen-ager found his 54-year-old father shot to death in their apartment Wednesday morning, Los Angeles police reported. There were no suspects in the slaying.
Simon Sarkissian, who worked as a baker, was found dead on the living room floor of his apartment at 12:10 a.m. when his son, Armin Sarkissian, 19, returned home, Detective Rick Swanston said.
The son found the door to the apartment in the 18400 block of Hatteras Street closed and there was no sign of a forced entry, Swanston said. Neighbors reported hearing a sound that may have been gunfire about 20 minutes before the victim was found.
Swanston said there was no evidence that the victim had been robbed. He said the shooting appeared to be related to narcotics, but would not elaborate.
