San Diego County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman who became unconscious while waiting to be released from the County Jail at Las Colinas in Santee on Saturday.

Cynthia Denise Floyd, 25, had been arrested for failure to appear for a court date after being cited for not paying her trolley fare, a San Diego police spokesman said.

Floyd was to be released on her own recognizance Saturday after spending almost 11 hours in custody for the misdemeanor violation, authorities said.

An autopsy has been performed, but results will not be released pending toxicology and other examinations, said a spokesman for the San Diego County coroner’s office.
