South Gate : New Sergeant Will Head Training, Shooting Cases
Bob Forrester, a nine-year veteran of the South Gate Police Department, has been promoted from patrolman to sergeant.
Forrester, 46, becomes one of six patrol sergeants in the 91-officer department, which provides law enforcement services to the city of 80,000.
In his new job, Forrester will supervise a team of eight officers. His duties will also include the training of new officers and investigations of officer-involved shootings.
Forrester who was born in San Francisco, grew up in South Gate and attended South Gate Junior High School and South Gate High School.
