Glendora : April 10 Set for Vote on Tax

Share

Voters will decide April 10 whether to approve a special property tax to raise money to preserve undeveloped hillside land, under a resolution adopted by the City Council on Tuesday.

The measure, recommended by the mayor’s Hillside Conservancy Advisory Committee, proposes an additional tax of 20 cents per $100 of a parcel’s assessed value. The tax would be imposed from fiscal years 1990-91 to 1992-93, and revenues collected would be used to acquire hillside property for preservation as open space. Passage requires two-thirds voter approval.
