McMartin Jury Returns 5 More Sealed Verdicts
The jury in the McMartin Pre-School molestation trial, now in its eighth week of deliberations, returned five more sealed verdicts Wednesday. It has decided 39 of the 65 counts of molestation and conspiracy against Raymond Buckey and his mother, Peggy McMartin Buckey.
After the eight-man, four-woman panel asked for exhibits relating to the last of 11 alleged child victims, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge William Pounders said final verdicts in the 6-year-long case could be announced as soon as Friday.
The jury has not returned verdicts on a number of counts it has considered, indicating that members are either deadlocked or planning to return to them for further discussion.
