Suspect in 4 Murders Gets New Attorneys
Two new defense attorneys were appointed today for a British man charged with murder in the 1982 disappearance of a Northridge family of four.
The original attorney for Harvey Rader, a deputy public defender, was forced to drop the case when he learned that a colleague defended a key prosecution witness in an unrelated case.
Rader, 48, is charged with four counts of murder in the Oct. 12, 1982, disappearance of Sol Saloman, his wife, Elaine, and her two children, Michalle, 15, and Mitchell, 9.
Prosecutors contend the Reseda used-car dealer killed the family in a business dispute with Sol Saloman. Rader’s first trial ended in a mistrial last year.
