El Toro Man Arrested in Fraudulent Leasing of 2 New Cars
An man who allegedly fraudulently obtained the financial histories of his father and another man and forged their signatures to lease two new cars has been arrested, authorities said Friday.
Robert Irwin Greenberg, 39, of Lake Vista Drive, allegedly intended to sublease two new Nissan Maximas leased in the names of his father, a 66-year-old Monterey Park resident, and another man from El Toro, according to Sheriff’s Department spokesman Richard J. Olson.
Greenberg was charged with suspicion of fraudulently obtaining their financial histories and then forging their signatures on two separate loan applications, Olson said.
In another case, a Laguna Niguel man was charged with stealing $56,000 in rent payments from an apartment complex where he was manager from last April through August, Olson said.
Richard James Mamola, 24, was arrested and charged with suspicion of grand theft and embezzlement.
