Undeterred by gray skies, President Bush cut short his stay at the presidential retreat at Camp David, Md., today to play a round of golf at nearby Andrews Air Force Base.

Bush had been spending an extended weekend over the Martin Luther King holiday at the presidential retreat in the western Maryland mountains.

He arranged to return to the White House late this afternoon.

The President has been working on the first drafts of his State of the Union address to be delivered before a joint session of Congress on Jan. 31. His budget for the 1991 fiscal year has been prepared for public release Jan. 29.
