Czechs Want to Rejoin IMF, World Bank: Czechoslovakia applied to rejoin the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. The Czechoslovak news agency CTK said the application had been made in line with a decision by the new reformist government Dec. 21 as part of its policy to open the country to the world economy. Czechoslovakia quit the two agencies, of which it was a founder member, in 1954, after its 1948 takeover by the Communists.
