A team of small-college football players defeated players from Division I-A schools, 35-24, in the first annual King Classic All-American game played at San Jose.
USC running backs Aaron Emanuel and Leroy Holt played for the losing National Team. Emanuel lead the team with 19 yards in five carries. Holt carried once for two yards. Cal State Fullerton running back Mike Pringle was also on the team. Offensive guard Barry Vorhees of Cal State Northridge played for the winning American team.
