The nomination filing period has opened for residents who plan to run for three seats on the Huntington Park City Council.

The period for filing nomination papers ends Feb. 1, but the deadline will be extended five days if one of the incumbents decides not to run for reelection, City Clerk Marilyn A. Boyette said.

Councilmen William P. Cunningham and Jim Roberts said they will seek reelection. Councilman Herbert A. Hennes Jr. has said he is undecided.
