San Diego City Councilwoman Abbe Wolfsheimer was selected Friday to chair the governing board of the San Dieguito River Valley Regional Open Space Park. She was nominated by County Supervisor Susan Golding, who was named vice chairwoman and will become chairwoman in a year.
The two had served as co-chairwomen of the joint powers authority overseeing the planning and development of the 43-mile-long park, which is proposed to wind from Del Mar to the foothills of Julian.
Named interim executive director of the park agency was Diane Barlow-Coombs, who has served as administrative aide to Supervisor George Bailey and other county supervisors before him.
She replaces Mike Gotch, a former San Diego city councilman who was named agency director but resigned shortly afterward so he could run for the 78th Assembly seat vacated by Lucy Killea.
