AST Research Inc.: The Irvine personal computer maker, reported earnings of $7.4 million for its second quarter ended Dec. 29, compared to a loss of $8.9 million for the corresponding period a year ago. Revenues were $130.2 million, up from $110.9 million last year. The results were in line with preliminary results released earlier.
