A woman and three of her daughters were injured Monday night when a motorist ran a red light at El Cajon Boulevard and Euclid Avenue, striking them as they were crossing the street, police said.

Ying Hui Luu, 7, suffered the most serious injuries and was on life-support systems in critical condition at Children’s Hospital late Tuesday afternoon. She suffered a cerebral contusion, internal injuries and a broken left arm and left leg, hospital spokesman Mark Morelli said.

The condition of Quan Tue Diep, 10, also at Children’s Hospital, improved to serious from critical, Morelli said. “She is awake and alert, and her condition is stabilizing.”

Anh Diep, 32, and another daughter, Chi Luu, 5, were taken to Mercy Hospital. Diep was in critical condition with a pelvic fracture and two broken legs, a hospital spokeswoman said. Chi Luu was in fair condition with head injuries and a broken left leg.

The four were crossing El Cajon Boulevard on a green light at 6:48 p.m. in the crosswalk when a motorist ran a red light, hitting the family, police said.

The driver was not intoxicated and was not arrested, police said.
