Hewlett-Packard Co. of Palo Alto will offer an enhanced early retirement program to 2,400 workers aged 55 and older who have at least 15 years service. It estimated that 800 to 1,000 of its 60,000 U.S. employees would take advantage of the offer . . . Ford Motor Co. workers in Britain voted by nearly 3-2 to accept a 10.2% pay increase, averting a nationwide strike, union leaders said.
