Caltrans’ Great Idea: Freeway Orange Angels

I was thrilled to see that the state Department of Transportation has instituted a new project to aid stalled motorists on Interstate 5. The particular stretch of freeway targeted for this project can be a nightmare, and positive action to solve this problem is long overdue.

It is to be hoped that these efforts will result in an increase of average speed during rush hour. If such an increase does result, it will more than justify the money spent to finance this project. Our freeways give Orange County a bad name, and efforts to clear up this problem are necessary.
