Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : NASA Cuts Flight From 1990 Schedule
From Times staff and Wire reports
NASA has revised the 1990 shuttle launch schedule, settling for nine flights instead of 10. Sources at Kennedy Space Center in Florida said the cutback was due to recent delays that otherwise might threaten a high-priority October launch of a nuclear-powered sun probe. In the new schedule, which is expected to be unveiled Monday, a mission for the “Star Wars” missile defense program will be delayed to January, 1992.
