I was visiting my sister here in Los Angeles when the McMartin story first broke. Shortly thereafter, I returned to Argentina. Imagine my shock when I returned to Los Angeles this past September to learn that 1) the trial was still going on 2) Ray Buckey had been in jail for 5 years, and his mother for 2 years and 3) the trial did not start until 1987. It reminds me of the Dirty War in Argentina--when everybody was subject to search and seizure.
Frankly, the whole thing seems like a hoax, and the children I have seen on TV (the alleged victims) seem to be coached.
