Fountain Valley 69, Westminster 60--Point guard Derrick Corcoran scored 22 points and center Mike Merli added 21 to pace Fountain Valley (5-3 in league play). Guard Mark Murphy led host Westminster (6-15, 0-8) with 15 points.

Huntington Beach 67, Ocean View 63--Forward Mustapha Abdi scored 31 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead host Huntington Beach (9-13, 2-6). Center Lee Quinn had 19 points for Ocean View (13-9, 5-3).

In Olympic League boys’ basketball:

Whittier Christian 75, Whitney 46--Forward Brandon Blevens came off the bench to score 16 points and pace visiting Whittier Christian (12-10, 8-4).

Valley Christian 66, Orange Lutheran 65--Sam Sybesma scored a layup at the buzzer for Valley Christian (17-5, 10-2). Orange Lutheran (13-10, 7-5) was led by Daryl Cole, who had 20 points and nine rebounds. Luke Aucoin added 10 points and Kent Dowding 11 for Orange Lutheran.

In nonleague girls’ basketball:

Brea-Olinda 69, Mater Dei 38--Jinelle Williams and Aimee McDaniel each scored 21 points as the Wildcats, the top-ranked team in Orange County, improved to 24-0 and extended their winning streak to 46 games. They won their last 22 games last season.

In Olympic League boys’ soccer:

Orange Lutheran 2, Valley Christian 1--Ben Schroeder scored on a penalty kick with 10 minutes left to break a 1-1 tie at Orange Lutheran. Jason Haynes scored the first goal for Orange Lutheran (12-2-2, 10-2).
