Veteran catcher Bob Boone will earn $1.9 million in 1990, thanks to the one-year contract he signed Monday with the Kansas City Royals.

The non-guaranteed pact also includes up to $325,000 more in contract incentives.

Boone, 42, and the Royals had been scheduled for arbitration because Boone wanted $2.05 million and the Royals offered $1.5 million.

Boone made $883,001 last year after signing with the team as a free agent in November, 1988. He spent seven years with the Angels and nine years with the Philadelphia Phillies.
