Mayor Eileen L. Krause raised $4,985 but spent the entire amount to repay loans made in the previous election. Krause indicated she will kick off her campaign with a fund-raiser March 21.

Eggers largest contributors, who each gave him $350, included developers Barry G. Hon of Hon Development Co., Kathryn Thompson of Monarch Bay and the Kathryn Thompson Co., Kevin Darnall of Pulte Homes, and the Building Industry Assn. of Southern California.

McGuire’s leading contributors included developers Van Stevens of the Mission Viejo Co. and Thompson, who each gave her $400.

The three council members have all indicated they will run for re-election.

Filing for the City Council race opens Monday and closes March 9.
