Jockey Rides Sweet Stef to Day’s 4th Victory
Jockey James Bruin capped a four-victory performance at Aqueduct Wednesday by riding Sweet Stef to victory in the featured $30,000 Real Crafty Lady purse.
The victory was the first in four starts this year for Sweet Stef, who hung on through the stretch to beat Mercedes Valdez, the favorite, by three-quarters of a length. Sweet Stef covered six furlongs on the fast track in 1:12.
The winner returned $21.60, $5.80 and $4.40. Mercedes Valdes paid $2.60 and $2.80 and Sleek Amber was $4.80 to show.
