Share

Guard Doug Yeo made an eight-foot baseline shot with four seconds remaining to give Brea-Olinda High School a 40-39 victory over Magnolia Wednesday night.

Magnolia (6-15, 1-8) utilized a box-and-one defense and often double-teamed Brea forward Keith Walker, limiting the county’s leading scorer to 13 points. Walker is averaging 33.6 points a game for Brea, the co-leader in the Orange League, and his lowest point total in a game this season had been 20.

“It was our worst game of the year, we were just awful,” said Rick Jones, Brea coach. “Give Magnolia credit. They played without their best player (Robbie Hargis) and nearly beat us.”
