Multiple-award winner Rita Moreno (the only performer to win an Oscar, a Tony, a Grammy and two Emmys) has released her first home video. Featuring upbeat Latin rhythms as its musical background, “Now You Can” is a lively 60-minute life style-fitness program, and there already is talk of doing a Spanish version. The 58-year-young Puerto Rican entertainer (who does over 100 live concerts per year) currently appears on the ABC-TV series “B. L. Stryker” with Burt Reynolds.

Edward James Olmos’ latest movie, “Triumph of the Spirit,” (also starring Willem Dafoe) features the versatile Mexican-American actor in an unusual role--that of a Nazi collaborator during the Holocaust. In this deeply emotional film, Olmos brings to his part (a Hungarian Gypsy) the fiery intensity evident in his varied character portrayals. One of Hollywood’s most respected thespians, Olmos is currently in town preparing his next two features--”Talent for the Game,” which he will produce and star in, and “American Me,” which will begin filming in August and will mark the actor’s directorial debut.

Jorge Elias, creator and co-host of Univision’s movie-review show, “Hablemos de Cine” (“Let’s Talk Movie”), has a new TV series set to debut next month. Entitled “Esta Noche en Hollywood” (“Tonight in Hollywood”), the one-hour entertainment/interview program tapes at Universal Studios before a live audience. Hosted by the Argentine Elias, first-night guests include Marisela, Martika, Alma Delfina, Luis Avalos and Miss USA 1985 Laura Herring, plus a “surprise” well-wisher.

Coinciding with his recent signing to continue as UNICEF’s representative for the next five years, which will have him performing benefit concerts around the world, Spain’s Julio Iglesias is now preparing two new albums.

Movie producer Richard Roth (“Julia,” “The Way We Were”) has filed a lawsuit against Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez over film rights to his 1988 international best-selling novel, “Love in the Times of Cholera.” Roth, who optioned the film rights for $400,000, stated that their agreement was breached when Marquez’s agent later insisted that a Latin American director be hired to direct the proposed motion picture, a demand that allegedly resulted in financial backers withdrawing their offers.

Emilio Estevez and Lou Diamond Phillips are on location in “Old Tucson” (Arizona) filming “Young Guns II,” a sequel to their 1988 Western hit. Phillips recently finished “A Show of Force” with Amy Irving, Andy Garcia, Erik Estrada and Robert Duvall, which was filmed in Puerto Rico and is scheduled for a spring release.
