SHORT TAKES : Black Film Honor for Glover

Actor Danny Glover and writer-producer Suzanne de Passe will be inducted into the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame at ceremonies in Oakland later this month.

Glover, best known for his role as the conservative cop in the “Lethal Weapon” movies, has also starred in “The Color Purple” and the HBO film, “Mandela.” Suzanne de Passe, president of Motown Productions and executive producer of “Lonesome Dove” and “Small Sacrifices,” was nominated for an Academy Award for co-writing the screenplay, “Lady Sings the Blues.” De Passe won two Emmys as executive producer for “Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever” and “Motown Returns to the Apollo.”

Keenan Ivory Wayans, actor, writer and director of the box office hit “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka,” will be presented with the Clarence Muse Youth Award.

All will be honored at the 17th Annual Oscar Micheaux Awards on Feb. 24-25 in Oakland.
