The Good Life in Beverly Hills

Your article is of particular interest to me. Your reporter, David Farrell, in large part did an excellent job. But, I take exception to statements made by an unnamed butler in the article. His was an almost blanket condemnation of the entire population of the city of Beverly Hills. Arrogant, self-centered, lives marred by drugs, monsters, no morals, no scruples were some of his descriptive words. He went on to say, “There are definitely some exceptions, but as a whole . . . the people I
know (here) are either weird or rude or a combination of both.”
I have worked periodically in Beverly Hills for various individuals and families since 1952, and for a cross-section of the citizenry. My work has ranged from the less affluent south to the very affluent north. The majority of those I have worked for were Jewish. Without exception these people have proved to be honest and of exceptional character. I have never been treated better. In a number of instances I have watched their children grow up. None of them would have needed the services of a psychological therapist.
I am sure there are some “weirdos” in Beverly Hills. I am also sure there are some in Bel-Air as well as my Woodland Hills.
People of Beverly Hills, you are A-OK in my book.
