The Newport Harbor Art Museum will hold a couple of big-ticket fund-raising events this spring to benefit its programs. A jean jacket auction March 17 at 7 p.m. (with cocktails at 6 p.m.), co-sponsored by American Express, will feature jackets decorated by such artists and designers as Billy Al Bengston, Lee Mullican, Marc Pally, Charlotte Neuville and Ikraam. The jackets may be previewed at the museum March 13 through 16. Auction tickets: $90. On April 29, “The Art of Dining III” at the Four Seasons Hotel in Newport Beach will feature dishes by nine U.S. and European chiefs including Pierre Herme of Fauchon in Paris, Debra Ponzek of Montrachet in New York, Susan Spicer of Restaurant Maison de Ville in New Orleans and Hubert Keller of Restaurant Fleur de Lys in San Francisco. Sponsored by the museum’s Business Council, the event will begin with a Champagne reception at 5:30 p.m. The event will be limited to 400 people.
