Defensive end Chris Doleman of the Minnesota Vikings lost his bid to become a free agent. Hennepin County District Judge Ann Montgomery turned down his request for a temporary restraining order that would have prohibited the Vikings from interfering with his efforts to negotiate with other teams.
Doleman, who sued the Vikings last week, appeared before Montgomery last Thursday and sought a quick decision, noting that free agents have 60 days, beginning Feb. 1, to negotiate with other teams.
