85-Mile Commute
Regarding Leslie Smedley (Feb. 1): When she drives the 85 miles home to the “scenic view and clean air” in Phelan from her job in Garden Grove, she leaves behind the pollution that her car creates. Those of us who live in the Los Angeles Basin must breathe her garbage. If auto users were charged the full cost of driving, she probably couldn’t afford to live so far from her job.
