NBA ROUNDUP : Miller’s 43 Good Enough; Jordan’s 49 Not Enough

Reggie Miller scored 10 of his 43 points in overtime, including Indiana’s final nine points, as the Pacers beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, 133-131, Wednesday night at Richfield, Ohio.

Mark Price led Cleveland with 37 points, equaling his career high, and sent the game into overtime when he made a double-pump three-point shot with four seconds left to tie the score, 116-116.

Price scored seven points in the first three minutes of overtime, helping Cleveland to a 127-121 lead. Rickey Green started Indiana’s comeback with a three-point basket and Miller then outscored Cleveland, 8-2, over the next minute to put Indiana ahead, 132-129.

Orlando 135, Chicago 129--Terry Catledge scored seven of his 34 points in overtime as the Magic rallied from a 14-point, second-half deficit at Orlando, Fla.

Michael Jordan scored 49 points to lead the Bulls. Jordan wore No. 12 instead of his customary No. 23 because his jersey was stolen.

After Magic Coach Matt Guokas was ejected for protesting a technical foul called on Nick Anderson, the first-year team battled back and tied the score, 118-118, on Otis Smith’s off-balance jump shot with 28 seconds left in regulation.

Orlando scored the first eight points of overtime and then withstood Jordan’s effort to rally the Bulls.

Philadelphia 122, New Jersey 112--Charles Barkley scored 30 points at Philadelphia as the Nets suffered their 11th consecutive defeat.

Barkley had 16 points in the third quarter as the 76ers outscored the Nets, 49-27. It was the highest-scoring quarter of the season for Philadelphia.

Minnesota 95, Charlotte 86--Tony Campbell scored 33 points at Minneapolis as the Hornets lost their 12th consecutive game.

Dell Curry scored 19 points for Charlotte, which has lost 22 of 23 road games. Armon Gilliam added 18.

Milwaukee 127, Denver 117--Greg Anderson scored 24 points to lead the Bucks at Milwaukee.

Ricky Pierce, who missed three consecutive games because of a groin injury, added 22 points for the Bucks.

Boston 106, San Antonio 95--Kevin McHale scored 28 points to lead the Celtics at San Antonio.

David Robinson scored 32 points for the Spurs, who have lost three in a row.

Phoenix 114, Utah 103--Kevin Johnson scored 34 points at Phoenix to lead the Suns, who have won 16 of 19 games.

The Midwest Division-leading Jazz lost for the eighth consecutive time at Phoenix since March 1986.
