STANTON : Resident Shoots, Injures Intruder
A mobile home resident shot and wounded a man who allegedly attempted to rob him, officials said. The suspect was in critical condition Thursday with a bullet wound to his stomach.
Sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday found Hubert Kizer, 24, of Costa Mesa lying on the floor of a mobile home in the 8000 block of Acacia Avenue. Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Lt. Dick Olson said.
The homeowner apparently had warned the suspect to leave the premises before he shot him, Olson said. After the shooting, the homeowner ran from the house, leaving the man inside, and called for help, he said.
No charges are expected to be filed against the homeowner, whom authorities declined to identify, Olson said.
Kizer was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he underwent surgery and was in critical condition, a spokesperson said.
