French Auction House Expands: Hotel Drouot, the French auction house that last year handled the $49 million sale of Picasso’s “Pierrete’s Wedding,” announced plans to open offices in New York and Tokyo this spring. Drouot’s sales volume has tripled in the past three years, with a 1989 total of $825 million, up from $500 million in 1988.
